Nonprofit & Corporate Finance Director | Grant & Compliance Specialist Shawan Williams Watson is a seasoned finance professional with over 30 years of accounting experience and more than a decade of leadership as a Nonprofit Finance Director. She currently serves as Executive Director of The Aaliyah Burras 777 Foundation, bringing both financial expertise and mission-driven leadership to the organizations she supports.

She holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Holy Cross and a certificate in Education Finance from Georgetown University. In August 2026, she will begin pursuing her Master of Public Administration (MPA) to further expand her impact in the public and nonprofit sectors.

Shawan specializes in state, federal, and private grant management, with a strong focus on grant compliance oversight, general ledger cleanup, and financial reporting. She is known for her precision, integrity, and ability to align financial operations with organizational goals, including cost and tax optimization.

Her excellence in financial reporting has been recognized by the Louisiana Department of Education, where she received an “Excellent” rating for her Annual Financial Report (AFR) submission.
